So here are a few things that I feel others might want to know before buying the Alibi ALI-PZ40-VUZAI PTZ camera.. Is it a ok camera? Sure.. 25x zoom 4mp Ai camera has some good options.
Some things to note.
No built in Mic or Speaker so you will need to add your own using the included wires on the cameras wiring harness..
PTZ is something to be desired. here is why.. Even with the last update the camera while it looks like some other branded PTZ cameras main page it don't act correctly. Before the last update there was only Presets that you have setup on the right, Now even doing a Factory Reset and then setting up the camera again from scratch. I added back Presets that I have been using.. Now I setup first 1, second one was preset 4 and then I added preset 5 then I went back and added in preset 2 and 3.. Then I thought because of the way the new lay out was setup that it would work as I expected and the way my others do, Yet using my NVR *different brand* I went to preset 1 and that was fine I then wanted to go to preset 3 and what it did was took me to Preset 5 that is because it was the 3rd preset I setup and it don't reflect the correct preset position So while it looks like it should work right it don't..
Next I reset my Alibi AI POE NVR back to factory settings. I setup again and added in my PTZ camera, The Preset came online and I thought ok lets test this. I click on the cameras WebUI the Pencil for the preset 1 and moved it form 3.3x zoom area to 2.83x zoom area and saved. All it did is made a new preset in the NVR and didn't save preset 1 at the new loacation.. Still not a good thing and the camera is almost 4 years old now.. What does that matter you ask? Well unlike some other CCTV cameras that I own that offer a Forum, When there is issues with a camera and you post to the forum of the issues you find that issue gets fixed.. Well Alibi don't offer a Forum and there is no where you can engage with anyone about the issue you find out so there is no updates that cure any issue..
Next and one of the worse things for a Camera company that talks about being NDAA complaint, If I setup my Alibi NVR, cameras and I have more then just a few to use email within 24hrs of adding my email server data I get locked out of my Hosting company servers because the NVR, cameras are doing something that makes the servers feel there is something bad going on. Like trying to log into a ROOT account or who knows what really. All I know is that my email server locks me out, my website locks me out and I can't even log into my own webservice so I have to contact my Hosting company Tech Support and wait on hold until my time comes up in cue to ask them to un block my local IP address.. I have more then 50 CCTV DVR/NVR and IP cameras from other company that I have added my email info into the devices and not one of them lock me out..
Have any questions feel free to ask, I will do the best I can to answer you ASAP..
Thank You
James
